A soggy end to the year

Here Comes the Rain:

A strong storm system's on the way to close out 2019 on a soggy note. This is the same system currently making headlines for travel issues and whiteout conditions in several states with heavy snow. For the Detroit area, heavy rain is anticipated with this storm and it all starts Saturday night into Sunday morning. During this storm, temps will stay in our favor with highs climbing back into the 50s by Sunday afternoon.

This Storm Will Hit Us in 3 Ways:

First with heavy rain and localized flooding, second with gusty winds and falling temps and third with colder temps and snow showers heading into 2020. Therefore, snow showers will be in the area for New Year’s Eve, so be careful in case we have a few slick spots around town. When it comes to the snow, we’re not expecting much accumulation but it will be cold enough to ice up the roads as temps drop into the low 30s and upper 20s Wednesday morning for New Year’s Day.

Another Warm Up?

Starting the New Year with another warm up to kick off January? At the moment it does appear to be possible. Temps won't be as warm as the mild days from December but it'll still be 10° above average. Temps will be in the 40s with lows in the 30s.
