ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Drivers are forgetting to carry their license and proof of insurance, according to Allen Park police.
Wednesday night, police held a community outreach event to refresh drivers of the rules and responsibilities before getting behind the wheel.
The event was held at Allen Park City Hall. Residents were put through mock exercises and utilized police technology.
"For example, people stop in the left lane of the freeway on a traffic stop which makes us every uneasy especially us," Allen Park Detective Jim Thorburn said.
It's another step for these officers to bridge the gap in the community that they've pledge to serve.
