WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — There is outrage in Romeo and Washington Township after "The Romeo Rock" was painted over the weekend with a racial slur.

On Saturday morning, The Romeo Rock Facebook page showed "Black Lives Matter" painted on the rock, but it was painted over by someone saying "F*** BLM" with the N-word.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, they have met with citizens and taken a police report on the incident. The rock is actually in Washington Township so the case will be handled by them.

Located on Van Dyke, the rock is well-known in the area and is frequently painted over with messages.

That hate speech has been painted over once again with the message "Romeo Won't Stand 4 Racism."
