Ann Arbor Police are investigating the shooting of a man at the Holiday Inn on Plymouth Road near U-S 23.

The man was shot in a room on the fourth floor of the hotel around 2:50 a.m. Friday.

Someone in the room where the shooting took place reported it to the hotel's front desk, and the night auditor immediately called 911, according to a hotel manager who added that the suspects were seen fleeing the hotel just moments before police arrived.

The hotel was placed on lockdown and the guests were escorted out of their rooms and into a banquet room so police officers "could sweep the hotel," said Holiday Inn Guest Services Manager Tausha Vargas in a statement to 7 Action News.

Guests were allowed to return to their rooms almost three hours later as police continued to investigate the shooting.

Police say the victim is expected to survive.

No other hotel guests or staff were involved, said Vargas.

Vargas said they've been told by police that the shooting was isolated and narcotics related.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Ann Arbor Police.
