Searching for a family, one young metro Detroit girl is hoping it’s not too late for her to find loving parents.
Danielle is 16 years old and loves hair and makeup, so we spent the day together at the salon to learn more about her.
“I never thought in my wildest dreams we’d be here doing hair and makeup,” she said.
A well-deserved day of beauty, Danielle got the full glam treatment at Lena Shkreli and Company in downtown Rochester.
“That’s like a dream that I have like a mom and daughter just sitting in the salon getting their hair and nails and stuff done,” Danielle said.
It was bittersweet, as much fun as we had having our girls day, it’s something Danielle has never been able to do with a mom.
“It really is hard because when I go to bed at night and I know I don’t have a family then it’s really hard and emotional,” she said.
This smart and kind young lady would love a family that allows her to express herself through art.
“I’m really into artistic things,” she said. “I’m also good at drawing on paper with a pen and pencil and painting and stuff – I’m a really hands on person.”
Danielle loves to be outside and with animals. Her desire to have a family begins with helping out.
“I love to cook and if a mom or dad needs a little break from the little children I’ll be like ok lets go to the park, let's go for a walk, lets go in your bedroom and play with the toys,” Danielle said.
The simplest wish is a family, even just one parent- to end a life of loneliness
“It would mean the world to me, I’d feel valued, I’d feel like somebody actually cared about a 16-year-old, I would just be so happy, I’d be so content with my life,” Danielle said.
