(WXYZ) — The Livingston County Sheriff's Office has captured an alligator that was found wandering on the side of the road early Tuesday morning.
According to police, they got a call about 4:20 a.m. and a deputy showed up to the road in Oceola Township.

Police say a woman called them after the alligator crossed the road in front of her car and kept going across the road.
When deputies got there, they were able to find the alligator and capture it, taking it to the Livingston County Animal Shelter.
We're told the gator is about two feet long and weighs 10 pounds. It will be transported to a sanctuary in Athens, Mich. if it isn't claimed.

This is the third alligator in the past few weeks that has been found in the state.
