Another system is on the way to metro Detroit this week bringing the threat of more snow with arctic temps to follow. Compared to most of the snow systems this winter, it appears we’ll finally have a round of heavy snow during the workweek.
Timing is Everything
The latest model guidance suggests this snow storm will arrive Wednesday night and last into Thursday bringing anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of snow across metro Detroit. These numbers are just the model average and not necessarily a forecast just yet. Additionally, details pertaining to the track of this storm will have to be worked out before a snow forecast can be made with confidence.
Arctic Air for Valentine’s Day
That’s right, but it won’t be around for long. In fact, temps will begin to rebound by the weekend but not before dropping to single digits Friday morning with highs only around 20 degrees. If this verifies, it’ll be the coldest air we’ve seen since last March. I guess for those celebrating Valentine’s Day it looks like you’ll have an extra reason to cuddle.
