Here we go again as Winter continues to kick into gear. We'll have another stretch of rough winter weather as we transition into February. Things kick-off Monday when an Alberta Clipper comes through the Great Lakes during the afternoon. Alberta Clippers are notorious for dropping a quick round of fluffy snow, kicking up winds and dropping temps. Monday's storm will do just that!
This is an early call for projected snowfall totals but we want you to have an idea of what to expect for Monday. The storm's expected to get started in the afternoon and last into Tuesday morning. Some school closings will be possible Tuesday morning - especially within the areas expected to get the most snow.
Record Challenging Cold
After Monday's storm, the second round of this active weather kicks into gear. Highs for the middle of the week will struggle to reach the single digits with sub-zero morning temps. This is a dangerous level of cold even by Michigan standards, which is why we'll be close to setting or breaking records next Wednesday and Thursday. This level of cold air could also shut down some schools.
