Our forecast will have a couple tricks up its sleeve over the next couple of days. First we’ll have a strong area of low pressure developing to our southwest, which will lift over the state to the northeast. Once again, this puts Metro Detroit on the warmer side of the system bringing gusty winds & moderate rainfall to the area.
Eventually the rain from Sunday night to Monday evening will change over to a wintry mix as colder air pushes in. This will be the second part of the storm with temps plunging into the 20s for highs with wind chills in the teens and single digits by Wednesday morning. The cold blast stays in Metro Detroit for a good chunk of the work week before a slow recovery towards next weekend.
