Wonderful Pistachios has issued a recall on certain lots of pistachios distributed to stores nationwide including Trader Joe's due to a salmonella concern.
The pistachios are sold under the brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms and Trader Joe's.

Eleven people have reported falling ill from the nuts across nine states, according to the CDC. One case is being investigated in Michigan.
As a precaution, Trader Joe's says in a press release that they have removed their lots of Dry Roasted & Unsalted Pistachios, Roasted & Salted Pistachios and 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Pistachios.
Wonderful Pistachios released a statement that read in part:
Wonderful Pistachios takes food safety matters very seriously and is working closely with health officials to identify the source of the problem. In an effort to further enhance our food safety program and ensure the health and well being of our consumers, we have, effective immediately, proactively increased our sampling frequencies and lot size testing. The implementation of these augmented safety protocols further exceeds established industry best practices and bolsters our long-standing commitment to producing the highest quality, most wholesome and safest pistachios in the world.
