Beaumont, Universal Health Services to build new $40M mental health facility in Dearborn

Beaumont Health and Universal Health Services have partnered to build a new mental health facility in Southeast Michigan.

The new hospital is a $40 million initiative expanding more than 100,000 square feet and will double Beaumont's current capacity for inpatient mental health care.

Construction will begin in early 2019 on the 150-bed hospital which will be located across the street from Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn. It is expected to open in early to mid-2021.

Beaumont Hospital, Taylor, President and administrative lead of the mental health initiative, Lee Ann Odom, said, "We are proud to partner with a high-quality organization, with a national reputation, that will greatly enhance our efforts regionally to uphold our commitment to patient and family-centered care."
