COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — One of Bell's most-anticipated beers of the year, Double Two Hearted Ale, will begin shipping on Monday, Aug. 26, and be available at the brewery in Kalamazoo.
The double-IPA version of the best beer in the country was announced earlier this year, and Bell's said they have received "a TON" of interest in the beer.
With an 11 percent ABV, the beer is described as "everything you love about our classic Two Hearted Ale," with 2 1/2 times the amount of Centennial hops and "intense pine and citrus notes, a resinous hop aroma and rich malt character."
It will be available on draft beginning Monday at Bell's Eccentric Cafe and also available to purchase at the Bell's General Store in downtown Kalamazoo, and when it ships, it will have to arrive at distributors' warehouses before arriving at retail locations.
Bell's is reminding people that it may take some time to arrive at the distributors, and then to retail locations, so they are asking people to be patient with local stores, bars, restaurants and more.
"Our overall goal is to get this beer out as fresh as possible," Bell's said.
You can use the website's beer finder tool to see locations that have received a shipment of the beer, but the results are not real-time inventory, they are based on distributor deliveries of the beer, so they suggest calling ahead to see if it's available.
The company also suggests using the event calendar to see events hosted by Bell's at bars, restaurants and more.
Another option is to use Untappd, a social media app that connects beer fans,
