(WXYZ) — October finished with more tricks than treats with wicked wind and plunging temperatures. However, the month overall wrapped up above average in both temperatures and rainfall.
Detroit's average temperature was 54° (1.6° above average) with 4.41" of rainfall (1.89" above average) for the month.
The first two weeks of November may feel more like early winter than late fall in metro Detroit. The Climate Predication Center has southeast Michigan and much of the country in a cold bulls-eye to start the month.
The average high temperature in Detroit goes from 56° on Nov. 1 to 50° by the 14th. And, the average lows drop from 39° to 35° by mid month.
Both the 6-10 and 8-14 Day outlooks have metro Detroit with above average precipitation, as well. So, besides rounds of rain, you can likely factor in a few bouts of snow showers, too.
There doesn't appear to big improvement with temperatures, even towards the end of the month. In fact, the updated Climate Prediction Center's look at the entire month of November is projecting below average temperatures across Metro Detroit. However, the second half of the month is looking drier.
