BERKLEY, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Berkley City Council is expected to vote on a plan Monday night that would tear down homes in order to add more parking for Vinsetta Garage.

According to the city council agenda, they will vote on the plan for "reconfiguration of and development of off-street parking at 1010-1046 Eaton."

It calls for tearing down two homes to add additional parking for the restaurant that currently only offers valet. The lots on Eaton Rd. would add 28 parking spaces.

There is also a plan for homes and a vacant lot on Oxford Rd., one block south, that would add 26 spaces.

Since 2014, residents have fought parking expansion plans for the restaurant.
