A new bill in the State Senate is looking to keep bars and restaurants open later than they normally are.

VOTE: Should bars serve alcohol until 4 a.m.?

The bill would extend last call in Detroit two extra hours, moving it from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Senator Curtis Hertel from Lansing sponsored the bill. He and others think that extending the drinking deadline on weekends and holidays would bring more business to the downtown areas.
