GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Buddy's Pizza is expanding across the state and will open its first location in west Michigan in spring of this year. According to the company, they will open their 14th location in Grand Rapids, located at 4061 28th St.

It's the farthest restaurant from its Detroit roots, and will bring the original Detroit-style pizza to the other side of the state.

“So many metro Detroiters have chosen Grand Rapids as a place to live because it shares so much of Detroit’s history and values,” Buddy's Chief Brand Officer Wes Pikula said in a release. “We’ve fielded many requests over the years to take Buddy’s there and we’re glad to finally be joining the community.”

The spot will be 6,620-square-feet and seat 220 guests, including 20 seats on an outdoor patio. It's expected to feature an urban design with a garage door over the bar, mosaic floors and reclaimed beams from factories in Detroit.

On top of that, there will be a selection of Grand Rapids craft beers as well as Buddy's own craft beers.
