A Canton woman is desperately trying to find her purse that has a precious memory inside.

Julia Lewandowski says she remembers walking out of “What The Pho” on Plymouth Road in Livonia Sunday with her purse in hand.

When she got to her car, her dog that recently had surgery took her attention away. By the time she returned to her home, she realized the purse was gone.

Along with credit cards, cash, her ID and insurance, inside the purse was an irreplaceable keepsake: a picture of her grandmother with a necklace on.

“She loved it so much so I bought her one, said Lewandowski. “It didn't come in time before she passed away so I gave her the one I had. So she’s wearing, she’s buried with the one that I had, and then I got a new one to replace it. So the one in the picture was the one that was mine that I gave to her.”

Lewandowski filed a report with Livonia police and started passing out flyers in the area hoping someone can help her get the picture back.

“It’s the last thing that I have of hers that we both have," said Lewandowski. “Keep the money, I don't care. I want my license, I want my insurance cards and I want my picture with my grandma on it.”
