PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Pontiac church opened its doors Thursday night as faith leaders called for unity in the wake of the deadly mob riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The First Presbyterian Church welcomed faith leaders from around metro Detroit and a few members into the sanctuary for a socially distanced service. It was also streamed on Facebook Live.
As the country continues reeling from the siege of the Capitol, the congregation prayed through song and worship for peace and healing.
"For us to repair our nation we have to come together," said Paster Laura Kelsey.
