In a guest column for the Livingston Daily, Slotkin said that if Vice President Mike Pence and the President's Cabinet will not act, she plans to support impeachment.

Slotkin accused Trump of inciting a violent insurrection at the Capitol, referring to the rioters as domestic terrorists.

"The use of violence in American politics cannot be tolerated, and if we sweep it under the rug, it will simply keep happening over and over," she said.

She called the article of impeachment "a matter of principle," saying that there are things that go "beyond politics."

The House is expected to talk and potentially vote on articles of impeachment Wednesday. If passed in the House, it will then move to the Senate.
