I just want to take a moment to wish our friend Carmen Harlan over on channel 4 all the best as she retires from the business we all love.
She has been the face of channel four for more than three decades and a role model for so many in our hometown of Detroit.
Carmen is a woman who has always greeted me with a hug and a smile no matter where I would see her out in our community.
She'd share pictures of her precious grandchildren and her own children who she no doubt is so proud of.
She's one of the few African American female anchors who have blazed a trail for so many of us to follow.
Carmen I want to say to you - you will be missed; you've made us all proud, and enjoy this next chapter in your life with your husband and your grandbabies.
If I’m lucky, i hope my career will last as long and with such grace.
