'CATS' returning to Detroit's Fisher Theatre this month

(WXYZ) — One of the biggest hits in theatre history, CATS is returning to Detroit's Fisher Theatre for shows from Sept. 3-15 on a multi-season North American tour.

Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practice Cats, the show is on tour with new sound design, direction and choreography.

The creative team for the new production of CATS includes John Napier (Scenic & Costume Design), Natasha Katz (Lighting Design), Mick Potter (Sound Design), choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne, and direction by Trevor Nunn.

Performance times for CATS appearing September 3-15, 2019 at the Fisher Theatre, located at 3011 West Grand Blvd., in Detroit are:

  • Tuesday - Saturday evening performances at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday evening performances at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
  • Sunday matinees at 1:00 p.m.
  • Special open captioned and audio described performance on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for CATS start at $35 (includes facility and parking fees) and will go on sale Sunday, June 9.
