You won't need to travel to a galaxy far, far away to celebrate Star Wars Friday.
May 4 is the unofficial holiday of Star Wars fans.
To celebrate, the Detroit Institute of Arts is asking for people to dress up as their favorite character from the films and to take part in a selfie on the front steps of the museum.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. Friday.
The first 200 people in costume will receive two VIP tickets to the DIA's upcoming "Star Wars and the Power of Costume" exhibit, which is set to open May 20.
