DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit City Council held a public hearing Tuesday to address homeowners that were overtaxed during 2010 through 2016.

Hundreds of Detroiters packed a public hearing wanting to know what the city is going to do to compensate overtaxed homeowners.

Officials say "it is critical that we fill the room and show solidarity in demanding immediate solutions to this issue."

This is a one-time opportunity for the aggrieved taxpayers to address resolutions to be made whole. It is the goal of The Peoples Slate to get support of City Council to approve the resolution submitted to the body.
