The U.S. Coast Guard has issued a warning for boaters on the Great Lakes.

Despite the warm temperatures outside, the Great Lakes are still dangerously cold.

The Coast Guard says water temperatures below 77 degrees can quickly cause hypothermia for someone who falls into the water from a boat.

In addition to wearing a life jacket, the Coast Guard recommends dressing for the water temperature and not the air temperature.
