WXYZ DETROIT — We mark this Thanksgiving holiday period with Community Comments about our most recent station editorials. Lisa Hagen Kane said this about Michigan's e-cigarette ban debate.
"I'm not worried, it's going to the Michigan Supreme."
Tammy Tedder Neumann writes:
"I know if kids want something, they are gonna find a way to get it. Why is it that people are carded for alcohol and cigarettes, but it's so hard to do it (for) vapes?"
John Palmer:
"My body, my choice."
April Kovatch Emerick:
"Are they also banning fruity vodka? Energy drinks? Nope."
Campbell Quinn commented about the University of Michigan new design plan for downtown Detroit.
"It sticks out like a sore thumb! Talk about not enhancing your surroundings. (Architect) Albert Kahn would be rolling over in his grave."
Dan Hollowell Sr. said:
"Anytime you're bringing positive development to the City of Detroit, I'm all for it."
Ron Renaud of Oxford, MI. posed this question about the latest Detroit area transit plan:
"If a regional transportation system is such a great and needed idea, why haven't DDOT, SMART, etc. combined in the last 20 years?
John Leon said:
Let's see now, Detroit spent $144 million on a Q-Line that travels just over 3 miles. I can't imagine what a real transit system would cost the taxpayers.
Another TV-7 viewer writes:
"I don't see it for everyone. The areas that want it and use it can pay for it."
- Cheryl Reinhardt Motyka
But we should note that the number of people who "liked" the latest transit plan on our Facebook page far outnumbered the "dislikes". So, maybe there's hope yet.
That's it for now. Thanks for writing and watching.
