WXYZ DETROIT — January offered up a boat load of Channel 7 viewer mail responses. Frances Herz liked our Editorial Agenda for 2020 wanted to add a few more topics to the list. She wrote:
“Restraints (and) airbags are still needed on buses to keep our children safe, to and from school; affordable college is another travesty, (and) please solicit corporate leaders to pay their fair share.”
Robert Hamelin said:
You proclaim that Michigan needs workers, we need workers that are not high on weed.”
Virene Brown proclaimed:
“2020 will bring hope and opportunity.”
We can’t argue with that!
Channel 7’s selection of Anthony White, the Director of the Detroit Youth Choir, as our Newsmaker of the Year was a big hit and generated the most Facebook “likes” and comments, nearly 200 people said practically the same thing.
“Absolutely deserving!” - Veronica Davis
“Congratulations and gratitude!” - Vicki Blackburn
“Coolest choir director ever, you rock!” - Denise Fountain
Well, you get the picture.
And finally, our Editorial urging Lansing leaders to quickly make a decision on Pure Michigan’s budget triggered mixed reactions:
Hodari Brown wrote:
“How has Pure Michigan helped minority businesses?”
Deb Thompson said:
“Best promo program for the state.”
Paul Montresor remarked:
“I have never traveled anywhere based on an ad I saw on TV.”
Jennifer Futell Evans:
“I am in Tennessee quite frequently and see them more there than here.”
Paul Gusmano:
“Shut down the campaign and refund taxpayers for the cost!”
And this comment form Mary O’Keefe:
“Pure Michigan aims to inspire tourists.”
That’s it for now. Thanks for writing and watching.
