DETROIT (WXYZ) — A restaurant in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood has been named one of the "22 best breakfast spots in America" by Thrillist.

Folk, which is located at Trumbull and Bagley streets just a few blocks south of Michigan Ave., is an extension of The Farmer's Hand gourmet grocery store in Corktown.

According to their website, they specialize in "seasonal, made-from-scratch comfort foods and healthful beverages that are inspired by the global and cultural backgrounds and travels of our owner-operators, Kiki Louya and Rohani Foulkes."

The restaurant features an all-day brunch menu that is seasonal, full espresso bar and craft ice cream.

"Diners can indulge on an array of bread items from famed Zingerman’s bakery like avocado toast with beet hummus or toasted benne seed and pea shoots on a choice of seeded wheat or sourdough. For a blast of protein, the savory and filling Tigress Aussie Meat Pie with steak, bacon, white cheddar, and thyme comes baked in a flaky pastry," Thrillist writes.

Folk is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit folkdetroit.com.
