(WXYZ) — Cumulative data shows that 318,389 patients have recovered from the coronavirus (COVID-19) as of Dec. 23, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
The first set of reported recovery data was released Wednesday, April 8, where 56 people had recovered from the virus.
Officials say recovered cases are defined as the number of persons with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis who are alive 30 days post-onset (or referral date if onset is not available).
State officials say that recovery data will be reported on the state website every Saturday, while other statistics on deaths and positive cases will continue to be updated daily, except on Sundays.
“We continue to improve the information we are providing as our goal is to share timely and accurate data during this pandemic,” said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, chief medical executive and chief deputy for health “We appreciate the assistance of Michigan Medical Advantage Group in helping us offer additional statistics about testing.”
