(WXYZ) — There are now 110,832 cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,578 deaths, the state reported Friday.
That's an increase of 1,313 cases from the day before and nine deaths. That is the highest single-day total in cases since April.
Additionally, there are 11,419 probable cases.
In a press conference Wednesday, Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun said the percentage of positive tests went up slightly to 3.2 percent.
The Detroit, Saginaw and Upper Peninsula are still seeing a high number of cases, she said, but trends for case rates and test positivity are declining.
Last Friday, the state identified 61 new outbreaks, 32 fewer than the previous week. Additionally, there are 157 ongoing outbreaks, 65 fewer than the previous week.
