Michigan reports 1,872 new COVID-19 cases, 80 additional deaths

(WXYZ) — There are now 556,109 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Michigan, the state reported Thursday.

Additionally, there have been 14,491 deaths from the virus statewide. That's up 1,872 cases and 80 deaths since Wednesday. Sixty-seven of the newly reported deaths were discovered during a review of vital records.

As of Wednesday, the state listed another 49,996 probably cases of COVID-19 and another 903 probably deaths from the coronavirus.

As of Jan. 22, the state records 463,106 COVID recoveries.
