Michigan reports 3,011 new COVID-19 cases, 35 additional deaths over past two days

(WXYZ) — There are now 551,080 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Michigan, the state reported Monday.

Additionally, there have been 14,326 deaths from the virus statewide. That's up 3,011 cases and 35 deaths since Friday.

Michigan's COVID-19 case rate is down 72% from the November peak, according to data from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

As of Jan. 22, the state records 463,106 COVID recoveries.
