(WXYZ) — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced that high school winter contact sports in the state will be able to resume with safety measures on Feb. 8.

During a press conference, Whitmer said that cases continue declining and that it is possible for student-athletes to practice and compete in their winter contact sports.
