(WXYZ) — As the weather gets nicer, people are doing more yard work, home repairs and spring cleaning.
When doing so, you often uncover some items you can swap or sell.
7 Action News Reporter Andrea Isom shows you how to get those things off your hands and rake in a few bucks, in the safest ways possible.
Safety for you and your family is always key. But clearly, concerns are on even higher alert, because of COVID-19.
But buying, selling and swapping stuff you own or need, on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and others are still in full swing.
Janie Higgins is a Swap Group Administrator in Macomb County.
“Swap but just be safe. Because you don’t want to get an item and end my making your family sick by bringing it in”, says Higgins.
Higgins is seeing lots of people swapping, for various reasons because of COVID-19.
“There some people who have been waiting on unemployment since march. They don’t have a job right now. They don’t have money coming. So they’re trying to find things in their house to sell to get money for food or to pay the bills”, she says.
