State of Michigan reports 2,843 cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths on Monday

(WXYZ) — The State of Michigan confirmed another 2,843 cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths on Monday.

That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 538,377 The number of deaths has climbed to 13,824.

The reporting is for both Sunday and Monday. The state says they averaged 1,421 cases over the two day period.

State officials have said Michigan is in a "much better" place with its numbers now than it was at the beginning of November, but they are monitoring the numbers closely.
