State of Michigan reports 5,157 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 61 deaths

(WXYZ) — Friday, the State of Michigan reported 5,157 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 61 deaths.

Case totals now tally 426,294 and the death total is now at 10,456.

The State of Michigan surpassed 400,000 total cases of COVID-19 on Monday, just less than nine months after the first cases were confirmed on March 10.

The 400,000 case mark came on the same day that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the COVID-19 restrictions would be extended for 12 more days until Dec. 20.
