Rumors began circulating on Thursday that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne will be making a big announcement on Friday.
According to reports from Automotive News, that announcement is that the carmaker is considering ending sales of Fiat cars in North America and China over the next few years with a future plan to focus on Jeeps and Maserati luxury cars.
Sources, who have asked to remain nameless, said that the making of Chrysler vehicles is expected to be confined to the U.S., and that Marchionne will announce his full strategy on Friday, June 1 in Turin, Italy.
