(WXYZ) — A metro Detroit family is devastated after getting swindled out of thousands of dollars while trying to troubleshoot a money management app.

Latasha Clements was attempting to transfer $3,000, and when it wouldn't go through, she went to call Cash App.

Clements, a WXYZ employee, says she called the number to get customer service for the app, which is a money management app by Square, after a problem with a transfer from her husband.

Fortunately, Clements' husband is a federal employee with a federal credit union and fraud protection.
