(WXYZ) — Detroit firefighters were at the scene of an apartment building fire at the west tower of Lafayette Towers in Detroit around 7:45 a.m. this morning.

A fire reportedly started on the ninth floor of the building, which is located at 1301 Orleans.

Residents were evacuated from the building. "The good news is that there are no injuries, no firefighters injured," said Detroit Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell.

He said most of the damage was confined to a single apartment. There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
