Several crews from the Detroit Fire Department fought a fire at the Marquette Building in downtown Detroit early Friday morning.

The fire started on the roof of the building on Congress in downtown Detroit. In 2016, Adient bought the building for its new global headquarters and planned to spend $75 million to buy and renovate it, according to Crain's.

It was originally reported that the fire was at the new Detroit Foundation Hotel, but crews instead said it was actually at the Marquette Building.

According to fire crews, the fire was hard to get to because the building is under construction and the fire was on the roof.

A fire official told 7 Action News that right now, they don't believe the fire is suspicious.
