Metro Detroit has plenty of activities and promotions for celebrating Cinco De Mayo over the weekend.

The West Vernor & Springwells Business Improvement District kicked off summer with "Cinco De Mayo Week," which will end Sunday.

From 6-12 p.m. Friday, adult participants are encouraged to take part in the Southwest Detroit "Taco Tour and Bar Crawl," where diners can order any variety of tacos from participating restaurants.

On Saturday, there will be a "Shopping Saturday" event, which will feature hundreds of local merchants, including mercados, bakeries, meat markets and specialty stores.

The 54th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade will take place Sunday at noon starting from Patton Park and ending at Clark Park. The parade will be followed by the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and Mercado at Clark Park from 2 to 6 p.m., featuring special performances. 

Family-friendly activities, such as a bouncy house, petting zoo and face-painting can be found throughout the day as well. For more information, click here.

In addition to festivities, restaurants and stores around the area are offering promotions.

At Hungry Howie's, you can get one large one-topping pizza for $5.55 when you buy two pizzas. Use the code "CINCO18" to get the special.

Applebee's will sell $1 margaritas through Saturday. The restaurant is also selling $2 Dos Equis beers.

Bahama Breeze will feature Classic Margaritas for $5, which is $2 off the usual price. 

Party City is running a clearance event through May 15, which features up to 75 percent off in stores and online. Several Cinco de Mayo party staples will be marked down.
