Detroit Fire, Domino's give out free pizza

Posted

The Detroit Fire Department is hitting the streets helping to deliver pizza.

They teamed up with the National Fire Protection Association and Domino's to make sure people "Hear the beep where you sleep."

If your smoke detectors are operational and in the proper places, your pizza is free. If not, firefighters will install smoke detectors and make sure they work-- and your pizza is still free!

“Smoke detectors are very important because 80 percent of fire deaths in this country occur in the home. If you have a smoke detector that’s operational in your home, you cut your chances of having a death by fire in your home by 50 percent," says Edsel Jenkins, Detroit Fire Executive Commissioner.

The pizza giveaway will be for random customers during Fire Prevention Week Oct 4 - 10.
