DETROIT (WXYZ) — It's a hot button issue in Detroit, and two meetings today will center on police use of facial recognition technology.
The Board of Police Commissioners will discuss policy recommendations involving the technology at 3 p.m. at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters on Third St.
Later this evening around 6 p.m., people against facial recognition technology will be able to make their voices heard at Red Door Digital on Oakland Avenue near Custer in the City's New Center area.
Organizers say more than a dozen organizations are opposed to facial recognition technology.
