Detroit Police are investigating what appears to be a botched smash-and-grab job.
Investigators say the suspects crashed a blue SUV into a Dollar General store overnight.
It happened at the intersection of Joy and Schafer on the city's west side.
Police say the thieves tried to take a safe, but left when the chain they were using snapped.
