Detroit police say the barricaded gunman situation with an elderly man on the city's west side has ended peacefully.
The situation started around 12:30 a.m. near 7 Mile and Lahser when a caregiver for the man called police after an argument. He allegedly fired a shot toward the woman as she tried to leave.
Negotiators and the Special Response Team were on scene and the situation ended more than five hours after it started.
We're told the man surrendered to police.

Detroit police are on scene of a barricaded gunman situation on the city's northwest side.
We're told it's happening at a home on Margarita near 7 Mile and Lahser.
Police say the suspect is about 70 years old and has fired at least one shot. The Detroit Police Special Response Team is also on scene as they try to get the man to surrender.
The situation started around 12:30 a.m. when a caregiver for the man called police after an argument and he actually fired a shot toward the woman as she tried to leave.
Police say he has at least one weapon but they're not clear if there is more.
The crisis negotiation team is talking with him and they will continue to keep us updated.
