DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police have released surveillance images of a suspect and two persons of interest in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old over a pair of designer glasses at a local gas station.
Officers also released surveillance footage of the suspect's red Chevy Cobalt.
The incident happened on Saturday, May 25 at 11:20 p.m. in the 11000 block of E. Seven Mile Road. The victim, an 18-year-old male, was inside the gas station when the suspect entered the location.
When the victim started to leave the gas station, the suspect grabbed his Cartier designer glasses then shot him, police say.
The suspect then fled eastbound on E. Seven Mile Road in a red Chevrolet Cobalt. Police say the two male persons of interest that they are also looking for were seen with the suspect prior to the shooting.
On Tuesday, police said they have a person of interest in custody. However, it is not clear if he is one of the people previously sought in the case.

The victim, whose name has not been released by police, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police have released descriptions of the suspect and persons of interest:
Suspect: Black male, gray hooded jacket with the number 6 in red lettering on the back
and red wording on the front, blue shirt, gray pants with a dark stripe on the side, white
shoes, armed.
Person of Interest #1 – black male, medium brown complexion, long braids, slim build,
dark t-shirt, blue Adidas pants with white stripe on the side.
Person of Interest #2 – black male, dark complexion, short natural hair, slim build, black
hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
