Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan announced that Detroit's Chene Park will be renamed as Aretha Franklin Park.
Although the motion has not been approved by the Detroit City Council, Duggan believes there will be "strong and enthusiastic" support.
"Our beautiful waterfront jewel will be Aretha Franklin Park," Duggan said during Aretha Franklin's funeral.
