Detroit School Supplies Drive: Please donate!

and last updated

WXYZ is partnering with Leo’s Coney Island for the Detroit School Supplies Drive – to benefit students and teachers in Detroit Public Schools.

Donation boxes will be placed in all 56 Leo’s locations in southeast Michigan where you can drop off everything from pencils and notebooks to Kleenex and Post-It Notes. Scroll down for a list of suggested donations.

We encourage you to donate! Our good friends at Mojo in the Morning will also be making appearances and supporting the drive.

“We’re all aware of the crisis facing Detroit Public Schools,” said WXYZ/WMYD vice-president and general manager Mike Murri. “As the district works to find a solution, WXYZ is taking action to help make a difference for teachers and students across Detroit.”

During the week of February 1, we will hand over everything and guarantee it goes directly to kids and classrooms. In addition to dropping off supplies at Leo's locations, you may also donate through a Crowdrise campaign set up by 7 Action News reporter Kimberly Russell.
