DETROIT (WXYZ) — The City of Detroit plans to spend $100 million to improve 100 miles of road this year.
Work would include resurfacing major roads, residential streets and seven commercial corridor streetscape projects. Officials say the projects would also require the hiring of 51 percent of Detroiters.
The city's Department of Public Works will discuss this year's funding for the road project and the repaving schedule to prepare residents for the construction throughout the city.
The press conference will take place today at 1:00 p.m. on the intersection of Marseilles and Frankfort in Detroit.
