DETROIT (WXYZ) — Just one day after being featured as one of Detroit's Most Wanted, Christian Gonzalez has been arrested.

According to the U.S. Marshals, he was arrested Friday in Clinton Township by the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team directly from a viewer tip.

Gonzalez is a member of the infamous Crips gang, and he's wanted for threatening his girlfriend and skipping parole in New York. Police say he's come to the Detroit to evade capture.

"They were in a verbal argument, and he ended up grabbing a kitchen knife and he threatened to kill her," Efthemiou said.

The U.S. Marshals say 30-year-old Christian Gonzalez was already on parole with the New York State Department of Corrections.

"She fled outside the house and was able to get in touch with police and a warrant was issued," said Efthemiou.

That's when Gonzalez took off, police say.

"We were able to track this individual from New York to Tennessee, where he spent a brief amount of time and ended up meeting a girl," according to Deputy Efthemiou.

That's when the U.S. Marshals joined the search.

"The Marshals service has an expansive set of resources and investigative skills in order to locate offenders," said Efthemiou.

The Marshals say they were closing in on Gonzalez, and that's when he headed north. Authorities found a picture that took the hunt to a new level.

"We have pictures of him at Cedar Point with an unknown child," said Efthemiou.

The Marshals believe Gonzalez is armed and dangerous.

"He's a crip, he's advertising it all over social media," Efthemiou said. "He's a known gang member in New York, tattoos, gang signs, Facebook posts where he's throwing up gang signs."

And that this could be the child of a woman he was dating before coming here to Michigan.
