(WXYZ) — DTE Energy said there are about 70,000 people still without power as of Sunday morning following high winds across the area on Saturday.
That number is down from about 150,000power outages at its peak.
DTE said there were more than 1,500 downed wires, broken poles and tree-related damage.
There were more than 1,500 DTE employees and out-of-state contractors working to restore power. The goal is to have 80-90% restored by the end of the Sunday and all schools restored in time for class on Monday.
